“The Help” Controversy Continues
I’m really starting to believe that Touchstone Pictures, the distributor of “The Help,” is planting in the media all these op-ed pieces about the movie’s racial content. The latest appeared in the New York Times and is called “Dangerous White Stereotypes.” Every time one of these is published, the box office — which just crossed the $100 million mark — goes ka-ching for another five or ten million dollars. What did Prince once sing in “Controversy”? “I wish there was no black and white.”
