Michael Ondaatje’s “The Cat’s Table”
I am looking forward to reading “The Cat’s Table,” the new novel by Michael Ondaatje (pictured), best known for “The English Patient.” “Cat” is already out in Britain, but not in American bookstores for another couple of months, so unless I want to pay the postage on an Amazon.uk order I’ll have to wait. Meanwhile, Robert McCrum investigates the degree to which Ondaatje’s work is autobiographical.
