“Giant” Musical: With Kelli O’Hara?
“Giant,” a new musical written by Michael John LaChiusa and Sybille Pearson and which you probably know from the Rock Hudson/James Dean/Elizabeth Taylor movie, premiered at the Arlington Theatre in Virginia in 2009. Further work has been done, and it will play the Dallas Theatre Center next spring and the Public Theater in New York, probably in fall 2012. A workshop was held at the Public this past January, with Michael Esper, Steven Pasquale, Matt Doyle, and Kate Baldwin. The three men are highly likely to stick with the project in Dallas, and I can tell you that Kelli O’Hara has been expressing interest in the project, too.
