Art World Thunders Toward Nelson

As the gates of the Venice Biennale swung open yesterday to the world’s press, many of the assembled critics raced to one destination above all: the British artist Mike Nelson‘s labyrinthine installation. Damned if I can tell from the photograph of it what all the excitement is about. Then again, the differences between my responses and those of art reviewers is a wider gap than my responses and those of critics in any field of culture.
