I realize that the original “Law and Order” franchise used to switch stars more often than George Steinbrenner changed managers, but “Law and Order: SVU” won’t be the same without it core pairing in the dominant position. Mariska Hargitay is reportedly dialing down her commitment to the show, and Chris Meloni (pictured) will be leaving it altogether. Who’s moving in to the center ring? Possibly, noted dramatic actress Jennifer Love Hewitt.
