Pacino’s “Salome” To Bow At Venice
Al Pacino deserves the award he’s getting this year at the Venice Film Festival. While there, he’ll also be showing his new documentary, “Wilde Salome.” I saw Pacino in Wilde’s “Salome” on Broadway: it wasn’t memorable. But Pacino’s docus, such as “Looking for Richard,” are fascinating, so I suspect I’ll like the new one — about Oscar Wilde and his “Salome” — more than I did “Salome” onstage. But I hope this is the end of Pacino’s involvement with Wilde. I don’t want to see him as Lady Bracknell.
