My Weekend: “Thor” vs. “Fast Five”
My God, what a weekend! Not only did I see “Fast Five” ($83 million in its American debut) but also “Thor” ($83 million in its international debut). The former was awesomely bad; you’ve never seen such ludicrous explosions. The latter was ebullient and almost good — in other words, it isn’t just beefcake (star Chris Hemsworth, shown with Anthony Hopkins) that should get thee to the multiplex.
