Beyoncé’s New Song Bombs Big
Beyonce’s latest female empowerment anthem, “Girls (Who Run the World)” debuted at just number 33 on the Billboard’s Hot 100, selling 77,000 copies. This isn’t great. For alarming points of comparison, consider: Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me†recently debuted at number one on the Hot 100, and Lady Gaga‘s “Born This Way†sold 448,000 copies in the just 3 days. Even Ke$ha has claimed the No. 1 spot. Of course, the sure to be epic video for “Girls” isn’t out yet, and it should goose interest in the song significantly.
