Harper Lee Slaps Down Journalist
It turns out that Miss Harper Lee, the author of “To Kill A Mockingbird,” did not cooperate with reporter Marja Mills on an upcoming memoir that we were told yesterday had Lee’s approval. Lee released a statement through the law firm of her sister — a sister, Alice, who turns 100 this September 11 and is still partner in said firm. Harper Lee’s statement said: ““Contrary to recent news reports, I have not willingly participated in any book written or to be written by Marja Mills. Neither have I authorized such a book. Any claims otherwise are false.†Don’t stir up the Harper hornet’s nest.
