“Treme” Unveils Second Season
“Treme” is miles better than most scripted television, yet I wasn’t unhappy to see it end last season. Too much of this post-Katrina show was about how “I’m from New Orleans and you’re not so buzz off!” Too many of the couples were of the sexist Hollywood variety: plain man/pretty woman. What kept me watching was the music: “Treme” has as much music as “Glee” — and without the teenage angst. Last night, “Treme” began its second season. Steve Zahn’s character still makes me reach for the Mute. And the New Orleans chauvinism is intact. But I was glad to return to the neighborhood.
