Antonio And “The Skin I Live In”
Almodovar’s “The Skin I Live In” will premiere at Cannes. Starring Antonio Banderas as a creepy plastic surgeon (given all the creepy alterations undergone by Banderas’s wife, Melanie Griffith, the role couldn’t have been a stretch), the story echoes Franju’s “Eyes without a Face” and maybe even William Wyler’s “The Collector.”
