Lumet: What’s Been Overlooked
The obituaries of director Sidney Lumet, who has died at 86, have tended to overlook two of his finest films: “The Group,” the 1966 adaptation of the Mary McCarthy novel; and “The Hill,” which Woody Allen calls Lumet’s “finest film” and which is set in the Libyan desert.
