Mardi Gras is coming to a crest, and nowhere does it get crazier this time of year: not even in Mobile, which is — not New Orleans! — the home of the oldest U.S. celebration. Rio has the widest range of the rainbow, both in costumes and in skin color. I went one year and lived to tell the story.
