Geoffrey Rush Likes Patrick White

Patrick_white_1837461cAn incomplete novel by Australia’s most celebrated writer Patrick White (pictured) is set to be published next year to mark the centenary of his birth. White, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1973, died in 1990, leaving the manuscript of The Hanging Garden among a pile of papers he instructed were to be destroyed on his death. King’s Speech star Geoffrey Rush has recently been in Australia filming “The Eye of the Storm,” based on an acclaimed White novel. Rush said. ”It’s based on a novel by Australia’s greatest novelist.” Rush plays an actor who returns to Sydney to see his dying mother. His co-stars in the drama described as ”a savage exploration of family relationships” are Charlotte Rampling, Judy Davis, Colin Friels and Robyn Nevin.
