Conductor Valery Gergiev, whose punishing schedule sometimes results in less-than-burnished performances, wasn’t phoning it in the other night at Lincoln Center: both critics and audiences were thrilled with his account, with the London Symphony Orchestra, of Mahler’s 7th.
