“Out Of Africa” Composer Dies
In homage to John Barry, the composer who has just died, feel free to luxuriate in his music for the 1985 “Out of Africa.” No one any more writes with the grand, old-fashioned sweep that Barry did. And why would they? Hollywood doesn’t make movies on that scale any more that involve human beings rather than cartoon figures. Barry also did the music for “Midnight Cowboy” and “Dances with Wolves.”
