Lauryn Hill: Extremely Loud & Late
The generally reclusive Lauryn Hill (pictured) appeared last night at the Blue Note in New York. She was supposed to go on at 8 pm. Then 11 pm. She finally got onstage around midnight. This writer thinks the wait was worth it. Me, I’d a been on the last train home way before then, especially in the cramped quarters of the Blue Note, where you could buy a house in Fargo for the cost of a cocktail. Lauryn’s set list, though, was pretty great.
