Daniels Heads For The Tropics
“Precious” film director Lee Daniels (pictured) has decided on his next picture: a film adaptation of “Anna in the Tropics,” the Pulitzer-Prize-winning play by Nilo Cruz. The story is set in 1920s Tampa, where workers in a cigar factory have “Anna Karenina” read aloud to them. I’m anxious to see this drama as a movie, and Daniels — who, judging from the photo, seems to be enjoying the fruits (and other foodstuffs) of his success — is a good choice for the material.
