“Dancing”: More Unfair Than Ever

Ho, hum: another “Dancing with the Stars” elimination, another night when Bristol Palin should have been eliminated but wasn’t. Instead, Kurt Warner got sent packing after delivering his best performance to date. “DWTS” has always been as much a general popularity contest as a true talent competition, but this year the balance between those two elements is even more off than usual.

  1. I’VE WATCHED DWS FROM THE FIRST TIME IT AIRED. I LOVED IT. NOW IT HAS CHANGED FROM A DANCING SHOW TO A POPULARITY CONTEST. WHEN DONNY OSMOND WON THAT AWARD AND ONE OF THE BEST DANCER EVER ON THE SHOW LOST.IT CHANGED FOR ME THEN. THERE ARE A LOT OF CHANGES TO THE FORMAT OF THE SHOW I DON’T LIKE. BUT TO SEND RICK FOX HOME AND LEAVE BRISTOL PALIN IS ABSOLUTELY OFF THE CHARTS. AND LAST NIGHT TO LEAVE BRISTOL ON THE SHOW JUST TICKED ME OFF. I DON’T THINK I’LL WATCH AGAIN AFTER THIS YEAR. IT WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL SHOW.

  2. I have to agree with you. Bristol seems to be such a sweet young lady, but time after time, week after week she falters too much. It’s hard to imagine her now being in the semi-finals? I’m also a little tired of Jennifer Grey. She is a great performer (with dancing background), but the constant reminder of her body ailments and “injuries” is over the top for me. Somehow she manages quite well on the floor and afterwards all seems to be forgotten, especially after a good score!
