Celine Dion’s Twins: Nelson Eddy
Celine Dion has named her new twin boys Nelson and Eddy. She explained that Nelson is a tribute to Nelson Mandela, while Eddy is named after French songwriter Eddy Marnay. I prefer to think that the tots were named after one half of the greatest kitsch man-and-woman singing act in the history of Hollywood: Nelson Eddy, whose pairings with Jeanette McDonald in the 1930s were beloved by my own father. He used to listen to their records with my mother, while my siblings and I ran screaming from the room.
