Elton Slams Almost Everyone In Pop
Sir Elton John, who’s doing a concert tonight in New York with Leon Russell, has opened his mouth about the state of pop music. Tidbits: Today’s songwriters are “pretty awful.” Also: he was asked to judge on “American Idol,” but “I’m not a fan of talent shows. I probably wouldn’t have lasted if I’d gone on one.” Of Susan Boyle, Elton said: “I fear she might not understand the rigors of show business.” Finally, Elton is still defending his stoopid decision to perform at Rush Limbaugh’s wedding for a million dollars: “I was incensed when people said I was throwing away 40 years of credibility for money…Politically we’re opposites. It was an opportunity to break the ice.” You know, Elton, some artists in Germany said the same thing about performing for Hitler.
