James Franco, Frockin’ Around
Am I the only one getting a little tired of James Franco’s relentless need to be in the media spotlight by any means necessary? No doubt he’s an artist, and I don’t want to do that American thing of criticizing a creative person who tries many forms of expression. (Europeans are generally more encouraging of this sort of guy.) All the same, his magazine cover shoots (the latest has him in drag) are heading into Lindsay Lohan Land in their conventional unconventionality. I can’t help but note, however, that he’s probably the only one of this year’s likely Best Actor Oscar nominees who will grace a cover wearing thick red lipstick.
