The Next Jodie Foster?
While the media noise about “The Social Network” has been unavoidable, another well-reviewed movie opening today has the virtue of good reviews but also discretion: “Let Me In,” an English-language remake of the sensational Swedish movie “Let The Right One In.” The new film’s young star, 13-year-old Chloe Moretz, made an appearance in New York the other night, and wowed the crowd with her smarts and poise. Aged observers in the audience said they hadn’t seen such precocity since Jodie Foster in her pre-“Beaver”, “Taxi Driver” days.
