“Glee” Returns; All Nerds Swoon
There was plenty for Gleeks to kvell about when their favorite show returned to the air last night. Sue Sylvester was in fine snarling form; a new male character, played by Mike Chang (pictured), was introduced; Lea Michele’s character got a solo at the finish. That said, the temporary alliance forged between Sue and Mr. Shue against the new female football coach was unconvincing, exposing Shue at his most insecure. And the cast’s rendition of “Empire State of Mind” proved again that the producers should be careful before assigning their students hip-hop.
