Somehow I’d missed this when it occurred: If you don’t believe that the paparazzi in Los Angeles are a serious threat to the lives of celebrities, check out this video of Kate Moss being hounded at the L.A. airport. Even with police protection she’s pursued mercilessly. The celebrity culture that cut down Princess Diana has only gotten worse over the years since. I seriously doubt that a bill recently passed by the California legislature to fine paparazzi $5,000 for interfering with a celebrity’s car is going to stop things — not when a gotcha photo can fetch a lot more than five grand.
