John Waters: “Fruitcake” Troubles
“I can’t get ‘Fruitcake’ made,” John Waters tells the Paris Review. “I mean, I’ve been trying to make it for two years. To be honest, I don’t know anyone who can get a $5 million independent film made these days. The New Line I know is gone, a lot of the companies I worked with are gone. I mean I’ll try to make another film, I certainly want to. I’ve got projects.”
