A Little (More) Night Music”: Review
As promised, here’s my FT review of the re-opening of “A Little Night Music” on Broadway, with Elaine Stritch (pictured) and Bernadette Peters. Stritch, for those of you too young to remember Andy Griffith, was the old dame who went to the White House last month and blurted: “I’d love to get drunk with the President.” It’s his birthday, Elaine, and Obama’s family is out-of-town, so why not fly down to D.C. tonight after the show? One last “Night Music” item, below, is “Send in the Clowns” “sung” by Peters, Zeta-Jones, Stritch, LuPone, and many others. The impersonator, Carly Sakolove, is the finest Broadway imitator since Christine Pedi.
