Polanski To Direct “God Of Carnage”
Maybe Polanski should have been extradited. Now that he’s free to move around Europe again, he’s decided to direct the film version of Yasmina Reza‘s play “God of Carnage,” a worthless, pretentious piece of tripe that was a hit in London, Paris, and New York. And get this: Polanski will set the movie in New York, even though he can’t travel there. But just as he used Germany to double for Martha’s Vineyard in his recent (first-rate) movie, “The Ghost Writer,” so will Polanski find European substitutes for America in “God of Carnage.”
