Peeking Into “Imperial Bedrooms”
It’s still fashionable to malign Bret Easton Ellis‘s 1985 novel, “Less Than Zero,” but that study of youthful anomie, and its grisly grown-up counterpart, “American Psycho,” a decade later, showcase a compelling, original voice in American fiction. That said, I’m not sure I want to read Ellis’s follow-up to “Zero,” which is called “Imperial Bedrooms.”
