Freida Will “Rise” To “Apes” Occasion
Is this a consummation devoutly to be wished? I think not. Freida Pinto (“Slumdog Millionaire”) will star opposite James Franco in the upcoming “Planet of the Apes” prequel, called “Rise of the Apes.” The flick is centered on a scientist (Franco) working on a cure for Alzheimer’s which he is testing on apes. John Lithgow will play Franco’s “Alzheimer’s-stricken father,†and Pinto will play the female lead, a primatologist. Thank God we have Franco’s duh-inducing discourse to remind us that Pinto is not, in fact, a primatologist in real life.
