Helen and Amanda: Sisters In Skin
More and more, I don’t see the difference between Helen Mirren, Oscar winner for playing the Queen, and Amanda Lapore, a downtown New York transsexual. I mean, both of them will shed their kit at the whisper of a suggestion. Helen’s latest disrobing was for New York magazine to promote her new movie, “Love Ranch,” which is about a Nevada brothel and which I’m hearing not very nice things about. (I’m not sure if Amanda’s been to Nevada; on second thought: Vegas!) Helen’s talking it up like this: “It’s amazing how quickly you get into dildos everywhere and pink-feather handcuffs. Within an hour you’re completely used to it.”
