McCartney Takes Cheap Shot At Bush
I bow to no one in my dislike of George W. Bush, but wasn’t it a bit of a cheap shot last night at the White House when Paul McCartney, who was receiving from Obama the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, took the following cheap shot at the Prez’s predecessor? The award comes from the Library of Congress, and the Beatle said: “”After the last eight years, it’s great to have a president who knows what a library is.” Please! Criticize Bush for Iraq, slam him for Katrina, excoriate him for running up deficits, but lay off the library cracks. For God’s sake, Laura Bush was a librarian, and her husband most definitely reads books. Really dumb comment, Sir Paul!
