Glitzy Mitzi’s “Razzle Dazzle”
According to Stephen Holden, Miss Mitzi Gaynor — known for playing Nellie onscreen in “South Pacific” — is still performing with “inexhaustible stamina.” Maybe she should have been approached to play the old-dame part in the soon-to-be-shuttered “A Little Night Music.” I mean, Mitzi, who is 78, showed herself an adept at Sondheim in this video from her performance in “Company,” which deserves a special place in the Dropped-Jaw Hall of Fame.
