Fiery “Girl” Too Heavy On Plot
Earlier this week, I saw “The Girl Who Played with Fire,” the second movie of the Stieg Larsson “Milennium Trilogy.” This is the Swedish version, mind you: American producer Scott Rudin is to do the Hollywood adaptation of these books, which means, for example, that the explicit girl-on-girl nudity of the Swedish “Fire” will be seriously toned down. The second installment of the Swedish adaptation was even more plot-sagging than the movie of the first book, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” I can’t help feeling that the whole thing should be an HBO miniseries.
