Mikhalkov’s New Film Flops
Nikita Mikhalkov’s “A Slave of Love” may be my favorite movie by a living director. But Mikhalkov’s latest film, a sequel to the 1994 Oscar winner “Burnt By The Sun,” has flopped in Russia. Apparently, there’s a perception that Mikhalkov (pictured) is too closely allied to Prime Minister Putin and that his grandiose ego has gotten the better of his art.
