Happy 100th Birthday, Bette!
Somehow this past weekend, with Easter and all, I neglected to celebrate the 100th birthday of Bette Davis (April 5). It is fashionable to say that her best work was in early 1940s movies like “The Letter” and “The Little Foxes.” But I prefer the later stuff, like “All About Eve” and “Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?” Every time I watch one of her movies on TCM I rue how far women have fallen in Hollywood. No one pushed Miss Davis around offscreen!
