Sherie Rene: Tony Award?
Sherie Rene Scott should be sending a big expensive bouquet to Megan Mullally about now. Miss Megan, better known as Karen Walker on “Will and Grace,” was to star in the revival of “Lips Together Teeth Apart” at the Roundabout on Broadway. But she pulled out during rehearsals. Into the breach the Roundabout has inserted Sherie’s autobiographical show, “Everyday Rapture,” which was a hit off-Broadway last year. And — presto! — Sherie becomes the frontrunner for the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical. I hope Catherine Zeta-Jones, in “A Little Night Music,” hadn’t made a place for that statue on her mantle!
