“Alice” Success: “Sweeney 2” Next?

Alice-in-Wonder_lAfter two weekends, Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” has grossed over $420 million worldwide — a faster pace than “Avatar.” Two questions: does this mean that Burton is now free to direct a sequel of his last movie, “Sweeney Todd”? (Right now, Burton could direct Pauly Shore reading the telephone directory.) Does “Alice”‘s success also mean that in future even dark little dramas from Slovenia will have to be released in 3-D?

  1. Hopefully this means his planned take on the 1960’s Gothic soap opera Dark Shadows starring Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins will definitely happen!
