Russell To Do Dudley In “Arthur”
I have a rule with movie remakes: the worse the original, the better the chance of betterment. I’m not sure where that leaves me with the announcement that Russell Brand (pictured) will essay the Dudley Moore role in a remake of “Arthur.” This 1981 flick about a drunken millionaire was pretty disposable, even upon release. And yet it helped John Gielgud, as a cynical manservant, to an Academy Award, and had a reasonable share of laughs. The remake will undoubtedly make the whole thing more vulgar to suit Brand’s personality. Sounds like a rental, or, more likely, a free download.
