Happy Birthday, Frederic Chopin!
He may have spent most of his adult life in France, but Frederic Chopin, who was born 200 years ago this week, was a Pole. And the Polish government is celebrating by designating 2010 as Official Chopin Year. Warsaw just held a 170-hour musical marathon of Chopin’s work — an event almost as long as “Siegfried.”
