I’d Rather See This Than “Evita”
A revival of “Evita” is in the works for Broadway. But I’d rather see another dictator’s wife — Imelda Marcos — on the Broadway stage. David Byrne and Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) are looking for a Broadway berth with “Here Lies Love,” a disco opera about the former life of Imelda, the former first lady of the Philippines who was known for her huge collection of shoes. A double CD of the music is imminent, with perfs by Cyndi Lauper and others.
