“Avatar” Not The Sure Oscar Winner?
Last night, “The Hurt Locker” won the top award from the Producers Guild of America (PGA). This takes some of the momentum out of “Avatar” and its Oscar chances. The directors guild has its ceremony on Saturday (go, Kathryn Bigelow!), Oscar noms are next week. Then we won’t have any more significant Oscar clues until the big night in March (the Winter Olympics will constitute Oscar down-time).
