Polanski: Out Of The Woods?
I’m just catching up with Steven Mikulan’s Wrap story claiming that Roman Polanski is almost out of the woods in his 31-year-old unlawful sexual conduct case. It’s looking more likely that the Superior Court will release the auteur on the basis of the time he’s already served behind bars. This potential outcome will enrage the masses of pitchfork-carrying Polanski haters out there. But such an outcome would do two important things: it would put a point on the legal case, showing at least symbolically that no one should be entirely above the law; and it would not waste taxpayers money by throwing Polanski in some California prison.
