2009: The Year Women Fought Back
I’d like to think that 2009 was the year when some women had simply had enough. Example one: South Carolina governor’s wife Jenny Sanford refusing to stand by her stupid man when he uttered the inevitable “I have sinned, God forgive me” apology after confessing to an affair, partly furthered by tax dollars. Example two: Tiger Woods’ wife, Elin Nordegren, going after him with an (expensive) golf club when reports of his cheating started to leak heavily. And, third (my favorite): Gabby Sidibe, playing the title character in “Precious,” who rose up out of her classroom chair and knocked a mean, insulting boy upside the head. That’s the way to be!
