Jarvis Cocker’s 3-Day Gallery Gig
Brit rocker Jarvis Cocker has installed himself in an underground London gallery for a three-day gig. Why? He wanted to explore the idea that music could return to simply being an art form. “The record has always been the central thing, the music business has always been focused on the album,” he said. “But maybe as the record becomes less important it’s going to be more about the performance. If we are not getting paid anymore then the only reason you keep on doing it is the compulsion.”
