Irrfan/Cate As Nehru/Mountbatten
The rumor mill is reporting that Irrfan Khan (left) will play India’s former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru opposite Cate Blanchett‘s Edwina Mountbatten in the upcoming film “Indian Summer,” based on a book by Alex von Tunzelmann. Government officials in India, where the film will be shot next year, reportedly want some of the explicit bits of the script — showing Nehru and Mountbatten kissing, etc. — removed.
