Streisand Appears At Village Club
To promote her new CD, last night Barbra Streisand did a set at the Village Vanguard in Greenwich Village. Pre-event reports (and a few covering the event itself) made it seem as if Her Highness was doing her little-people fans and the whole goddam world a favor by deigning to appear at such a small venue. I’m happy to say that the Vanguard — which for decades has been host to musicians much greater than Ms. Streisand — survived.
