Stieglitz-O’Keeffe: Steamy Hothouse
A Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition has opened at the Whitney Museum in New York, featuring works such as “Black Place 3” (1944) pictured above. Tucked into the catalogue are excerpts from recently unsealed letters—sometimes steamy, always emotional—that O’Keeffe wrote to the Alfred Stieglitz, the man who encouraged, marketed, photographed, married, and cheated on her.
