Confusion About Liza Minnelli
Maybe I need another cuppa this morning, but I’m confused. It has just been announced that a filmed version of Liza Minnelli’s recent Broadway show, “Liza’s at the Palace,” will be aired on public television later this year. The film will be called “Liza’s at the Palace.” But the film will be shot on Sept. 30 and Oct 1 in Las Vegas at the Hollywood Theatre. Why isn’t it called “Liza with a V” (“V” for “Vegas”)? Or “Liza in Hollywood”? On the other hand, “Judy at the Palace,” the 1951 album by Liza’s mother, Judy Garland, wasn’t recorded at the Palace Theater, either, but was a compilation of Judy’s biggest hits.
