“Catch Me” Musical Not In NY Before Spring

Cast members of tuner “Catch Me if You Can,” which recently wrapped an out-of-town preem in Seattle, are filtering back to Gotham, with two of the show’s thesps lining up Broadway gigs for the fall.

Aaron Tveit, who played the central conman in “Catch Me,” will return next month to “Next to Normal,” the show he departed to do “Catch Me” in Seattle. Meanwhile, Kerry Butler (“Hairspray”), who portrayed Tveit’s love interest, will step into “Rock of Ages” as the female lead.

Plans for “Catch Me,” generally expected to arrive in Gotham at some point in the future, remain up in the air, but the show won’t materialize in New York before spring.

Tveit gets back to “Normal” on Sept. 7, while Butler’s six-month engagement in “Rock” starts Sept. 21.
